
Job Title: Graduate Assistant
Department: School of Computing and Engineering Sciences
Reporting to: Academic Director
Basic Job Summary
The job holder is responsible for providing support to faculty in conducting tutorials for
specific courses assigned. This includes but not limited to grading, monitoring, leading
discussion sessions, offering office hours assistance to students and performing clerical
tasks associated with course instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities
The key tasks include, but are not limited to:
Teaching and Learning Support
Deliver a range of teaching and assessment activities, including tutorials, directed
towards the delivery of subjects at the undergraduate level
Contribute to the preparation of learning materials, class methodologies, and
teaching aids to meet learning objectives
Participate in the supervision of practical work, advising on skills, methods, and
techniques to assist the transfer of knowledge
Conduct student practice sessions, discussion sessions, and review sessions
Coaching students to participate in academic competitions
Guide students in identifying research topics, developing proposals, and journeying
them through the academic research process
Supervise service-based learning projects and work-based learning projects
Contribute to the ongoing development and design of the curriculum to support
student learning
Research Support
Conduct research in a relevant area of expertise
Attending and disseminating research output in local and international conferences
Administration Support
Review applications for undergraduate school admission
Receive and guide external clients, partners, and other stakeholders visiting the
school
Maintain accurate student records
Handling correspondence between students and faculty
Service to Society
Carry out CSR activities
Minimum Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree qualification (1st Class honors) in a relevant field in Computer
Science, Business Information Technology, or Cyber Security and Engineering
courses from an accredited and recognized university
Eligible for registration in a Master’s degree program
Relevant professional qualification, dependent on the area of expertise
