Gateway Marine Services Ltd seeks an experienced Depot / Terminal Manager to take full charge of our container terminal – reefer operations, dry container yard, food grade preparation and the repair workshop.
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗘
– 𝗬𝗮𝗿𝗱: gate in/out, stacking plan, capacity, equipment deployment
– 𝗥𝗲𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿: plugging, power management, PTI, temperature monitoring, alarm response and escalation
– 𝗗𝗿𝘆: survey, grading, cargo-worthy certification, on-hire/off-hire, stock accuracy
– 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲: cleaning, drying, odour and contamination checks, release only against agreed criteria
– 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽: reefer machinery, structural and dry repairs, spares control, turnaround times
– 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀: repair estimating and approvals with lines and lessors to IICL/CIQA standards
– 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺: technicians, surveyors, welders, operators – training, discipline, shift planning
– 𝗞𝗣𝗜𝘀: dwell time, repair TAT, off-power incidents, food grade rejections, claims, utilisation
– 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: safety, refrigerant handling, food safety and statutory requirements
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗘
– 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 – container terminal or depot operations at supervisory/management level (essential)
– 𝗥𝗲𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗱𝗿𝘆 experience – not one or the other
– 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 – Thermo King, Carrier, Daikin, Star Cool / MCI, Mitsubishi, plus CA and gensets
– 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 standards – cleaning, inspection, contamination control, documentation
– 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – manufacturer reefer training, IICL or CIQA inspection, refrigerant handling, or a diploma/degree in refrigeration, mechanical or marine engineering. HACCP an added advantage
– 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 – estimating, damage assessment, line-approved procedures for reefer and dry
– 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 – manage a technical team, contractors and shipping line relationships under pressure
– 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 – depot management systems and Excel
