Enable Forgotten Children, (EFC) is an organization working together with like-minded partners to build an integrative society where children with multiple or severe disabilities have equal chances to health, education, and protection of their wellbeing in society. EFC is a non-profit organization with a mission to improve the quality of life to children living with multiple or severe disabilities in Kenya. EFC, is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist Intern. This internship will offer hands-on experience while working alongside experienced professionals at our mobile therapy centers. This is an unpaid internship but a stipend is provided through the period of engagement.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities include:

  • Work alongside an experienced therapist at our mobile therapy centers, while supporting the children.
  • Under supervision, formulate and implement treatment plans for children with cerebral palsy and related conditions.
  • Help children with mobility exercises, skills development for daily life.
  • Sensitizing the community on occupational therapy issues and providing health education to parents and care givers.

Essential Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution, degree will be an added advantage.
  • Fluent in English and Swahili.
  • Problem-solving skills, analytical skills, ability to work under pressure and good communication skills, self-driven, reliable and objective.
