The Material Planner Trainee supports the management of material and equipment flow, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of raw materials, parts, and assemblies to maintain a seamless operational workflow.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage 12-month material replenishment and inventory plans to ensure uninterrupted production and optimise working capital.
- Coordinate with demand planning, production and procurement teams to align material requirements with production schedules.
- Monitor MRP requirements, purchase requisitions, lead times, quantities and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely availability of raw and packaging materials for local and export requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify risks such as stock shortages, excess inventory and demand fluctuations.
- Manage planning exceptions and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with relevant stakeholders.
- Analyse material requirements using MRP systems, forecasts and production plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce material waste and improve workflow efficiency.
- Prepare regular reports on material usage, inventory status and procurement requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or any Business-related field.
- Strong willingness to learn and grow within supply chain management
