Role Description

The Quality Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi County, Kenya. We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and quality-driven Quality Coordinator to oversee quality assurance and quality control processes in accordance with Lorenzo Group’s approved quality standards, customer requirements, SOPs and QMS requirements.

This role is responsible for monitoring and evaluating service quality across all operational areas, ensuring adherence to established standards and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all garments and customer items are processed, inspected, packaged, and returned to customers in accordance with the highest quality standards. The role plays a critical part in reducing garment damage, preventing service failures, improving customer satisfaction, and driving continuous operational improvement. The role also involves engaging with relevant stakeholders to address quality-related feedback and support continuous improvement in customer satisfaction.

This position combines both Quality Assurance (preventing defects) and Quality Control (identifying and correcting defects before customer delivery).

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality standards across all stages of garment processing.
  • Ensure compliance with garment care procedures, fabric treatment requirements, and company operating standards.
  • Conduct routine quality audits of production, finishing, packaging, and delivery processes.
  • Monitor adherence to approved chemical handling, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Quality Control

  • Inspect garments upon receipt and document pre-existing damage, stains, defects, and special care requirements.
  • Perform quality inspections during washing, dry-cleaning, ironing, finishing, and packaging stages.
  • Conduct final inspections before garments are released to customers.
  • Verify garment cleanliness, pressing quality, packaging standards, and order accuracy.
  • Ensure all garments received are correctly accounted for before delivery or collection.

Incident and Complaint Management

  • Investigate garment damage, losses, mix-ups, customer complaints, and service failures.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality incidents, rework, complaints, and resolutions.
  • Support customer service and operations teams in resolving quality-related issues.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor quality performance indicators and prepare quality reports.
  • Recommend improvements in processes, equipment utilisation, workflow efficiency, and employee practices.
  • Support quality training and awareness initiatives across the organisation.

Core Competencies and Skills

  • Knowledge of garment care, laundry, dry-cleaning, or textile handling processes.
  • Ability to identify quality defects and process deviations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Quality Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in quality assurance, quality control, laundry operations, garment care, manufacturing, hospitality, or related operations.
  • Candidates should possess strong Quality Control and Quality Management skills to maintain and improve service standards.
  • Candidates should possess Quality Auditing and Analytical Skills to conduct assessments, interpret data, and drive process improvements.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and convey quality expectations clearly.
  • Relevant experience in service-based or facilities management sectors, preferably in cleaning, laundry, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles, standard operating procedures, and basic health and safety regulations.
