Position Summary
The Kenya Extended Producer Responsibility Organization (KEPRO) is Kenya’s leading and
largest producer responsibility organization, managing compliance solutions for over 1,400
non-hazardous packaging value chain actors. We are seeking a highly motivated Programmes
Intern to support our Gram for Gram (G4G) department on community and waste
management initiatives. This role will focus on delivering training, supporting partner
onboarding, conducting due diligence, and amplifying KEPRO’s impact through community
engagement and knowledge sharing. This role is ideal for recent graduates passionate about
environmental sustainability and community development looking to gain hands-on
program management experience.
Preferred Education Background
A Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Environmental Science, or Environmental
Education is preferred for this role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Training & Onboarding Support
o Develop and deliver interactive training sessions for waste management actors
(small businesses, grassroots organizations, and community groups) on
KEPRO’s waste management compliance protocols and digital onboarding
platforms.
o Assist with creating training materials, slides, and handouts to support
participant learning.
o Track participant attendance and feedback to improve future training sessions.
2. Partner Due Diligence & Administration
o Support due diligence checks for new and existing waste management partner
organizations, including collecting and verifying partner documentation, updating partner databases, and ensuring alignment with KEPRO’s
compliance standards.
o Assist with onboarding new partners to KEPRO’s systems and processes.
3. Program Coordination & Logistics
o Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating G4G community outreach
events, workshops, and sensitization forums.
o Provide administrative and logistical support for program delivery, including
venue booking, materials preparation, and attendee coordination.
o Monitor the on-the-ground progress of G4G initiatives and report updates to
the G4G Programs Manager.
4. Knowledge Pool & Publication Support
o Collect and compile success stories, case studies, and impact data from
community programs to contribute to KEPRO’s internal knowledge pool and
public publications.
o Assist with drafting and editing content for KEPRO’s awareness campaigns,
website, and social media channels.
5. Community Engagement & Collaboration
o Support relationship-building with community leaders, grassroots
organizations, and other waste management stakeholders.
o Assist with coordinating joint projects between KEPRO and community
partners to scale impact.
6. General Support
o Provide regular progress updates to the G4G Programs Manager on internship
tasks and program activities.
o Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the G4G Programs Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Environmental Science,
Environmental Education, Community Development, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Entry-level, recent graduates (within 24 months of completing their
degree) are strongly preferred. Volunteer experience, academic projects focused on
community work or environmental sustainability, and hands-on program support
experience are a significant plus.

• Experience working with grassroots organizations or waste management initiatives
is a plus.

stakeholders, including community members, partner organizations, and KEPRO
staff.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage
multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Experience planning and coordinating events, training sessions, and community
activities.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate partner and program records.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic digital tools.
• Passion for environmental sustainability, circular economy principles, and
community development.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
