WE ARE HIRING – Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
Program Background
Kwale Women Focus Initiative (KWFI) is implementing BlueBiz Program in Lungalunga
Subcounty to support young women in the seaweed value chain. The program targets 300 young
women across seaweed production, aggregation, processing, and commercialization aimed at
building a functional and inclusive seaweed value chain while creating dignified and fulfilling
work.
Location: Kwale County
Contract Duration: 5 months (with possible extension subject to funding availability)
Reporting To: Executive Director (on behalf of TechnoServe)
Program: BlueBiz Program

ABOUT THE ROLE
KWFI is seeking to recruit a detail‐driven M&E Officer to design, implement and overseeing
monitoring and evaluation activities for our projects. This role ensures the accurate and timely
tracking of project performance helping the organization assess effectiveness, identify areas for
improvement and report findings to stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and implement M&E systems: design and manage the overall and M&E
framework and work plan to track the achievement of outcome and objectives.
2. Data collection and management: Develop and maintain Data collection tools e.g using
digital platforms like Kobo Toolbox, ensure routine data is updated and maintain project
data collection systems.
3. Data analysis and reporting: Compile, review and analyze project related quantitative and
qualitative data to inform performance. prepare high quality progress reports for internal
and external stakeholders
4. Field monitoring: Conduct regular field visits to project sites to monitor activities, , ensure
data quality, and provide technical support to field teams
5. Learning and documentation: Facilitate the documentation and sharing of best practice,
lessons learned, and innovative approaches across the organization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics Economics or a related field
Experience
At least 3–5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation role
Proficiency in designing tools and strategies for data collection and analysis
Skills & Competencies
● Strong knowledge of M&E tools and statistics software e.g exel, SPSS, STATA
● Experience with database management and digital data collection platforms eg Kobo
Toolbox
● Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
● Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
● Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team
