We are seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Microbiologist within our QEOSH department. Individuals who meet the job specifications are highly encouraged to apply.

Microbiologist

Job Purpose: The primary role is to ensure the microbiological safety, quality and compliance of treated water, syrups, finished beverages, packaging materials, processing equipment and the production environment by conducting microbiological testing, monitoring and investigations in line with Coca-Cola requirements, GMP, GLP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, QMS and applicable regulatory standards.

Overall Responsibility:

  • Conduct microbiological sampling and testing of water, syrups, finished products, packaging materials and
    environmental samples.
  • Perform tests for Total Viable Count, Yeast & Mould, Coliforms and other specified microorganisms.
  • Prepare and maintain microbiological media, reagents and laboratory equipment.
  • Record, analyse and trend microbiological results and promptly report out-of-specification results.
  • Investigate microbiological non-conformances and support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Verify sanitation effectiveness, including CIP, line sanitation and equipment hygiene.
  • Maintain laboratory hygiene, sample retention, records and equipment verification in line with GLP and GMP
    requirements.
  • Support compliance with HACCP, FSSC 22000, QMS and applicable food safety standards.
  • Support audits and train relevant employees on hygiene, aseptic sampling and contamination prevention.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years in experience in microbiology laboratory operations. Preferably in Food Manufacturing sector.
  • Good knowledge of GMP, GLP, HACCP and microbiological testing.
