About the role

We are looking for an IT and Systems Developer who will be responsible for maintaining, extending, and optimising the organisation’s core digital platforms, with a primary focus on ERPNext (Frappe). The role ensures our digital ecosystem functions as an integrated and reliable environment supporting our operations, including seamless data flow across ERPNext, the Songa platform, Smartsheet workflows, Google Workspace tools, and fleet tracking systems such as Traccar.

Responsibilities

  • ERPNext Development: Customize and maintain ERPNext modules, workflows, and scripts to align with business operations.
  • Systems Integration: Build and manage API-driven integrations between
    ERPNext, Google Workspace, and external tools.
  • Platform Support: Maintain the Songa platform and organizational website, ensuring stability and ongoing improvements.
  • Digital Administration: Manage user access, system configurations, and drive the adoption of digital tools across the team.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues across all platforms to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
  • IT Infrastructure: Oversee connectivity solutions (WiFi/Starlink) to ensure stable access across all project locations.
  • Fleet Tracking: Configure and maintain the Traccar GPS platform for accurate fleet monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in IT, software development, or systems administration.
  • Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SQL, and Git/GitHub.
  • Experience with Frappe or ERPNext is highly advantageous.

Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Python and familiarity with web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably ERPNext / Frappe, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and customise new technical frameworks.
  • Understanding of API integrations and ability to connect systems such as ERPNext, Smartsheet, Google Workspace, dashboards, and mobile applications.
  • Proficiency working with SQL databases (MariaDB/MySQL), Linux/Ubuntu environments, and familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
  • Exposure to loT tools, cloud servers, fleet management systems, or automation tools is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose technical issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into effective technical implementations and system improvements.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
  • High attention to detail, adaptability in evolving environments, and commitment to building reliable digital solutions that support innovation and impact.
