Summary of the Role

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment for assigned positions including job advert preparation, longlisting, interview logistics, reference checks, primary source verification and other related documentation
  • Timely onboarding of new staff including pre-employment medical checks, induction on hospital policies, code of conduct, and safeguarding requirements.
  • Coordinate the performance review process and ensure all departments complete evaluations on schedule.
  • Collect and consolidate training needs across departments and prepare relevant reports.
  • Support staff development initiatives and maintain relevant training records.
  • Maintain HR Information system by ensuring correct and timely data entry into the system related to staff movement, onboarding, separation, leave records etc.
  • Timely payroll preparation including correct data entry into the HRIS such as promotions, exits, and absenteeism among others.
  • Oversee staff wellness and welfare initiatives as well as providing support on occupational health and safety compliance from an HR perspective.
  • Prepare HR reports and analytics for decision-making (headcount, turnover, leave liability, absenteeism trends) among others.
  • Closure of HR-related audit queries and implementing corrective actions as required

Qualifications. Experience and Core Competencies

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a HR Generalist role preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Minimum of Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree and CHRP certification will be an added advantage.
  • Membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management and in good standing.
  • Working knowledge of the Kenya Labour Laws
  • Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong report-writing, analytical, and record-keeping skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and ability to handle sensitive matters
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Commitment to professional integrity, diversity, teamwork and continuous improvement.
