The Kenya Institute of Management

The job holder is responsible of leading the financial operations and strategy of the Institute, ensuring long-term fiscal health, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth by guiding executive decisions with accurate data and robust internal controls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Work closely with the executive team to provide strategic leadership in all financial matters.
b) Formulate financial targets and budgets in accordance to the strategy determined by the Governing Council and monthly review of the same with budget holders.
c) Responsible for management of the capital expenditure budget to ensure high rate of return in investment.
d) Oversee treasury management to optimize cash flow and working capital.
e) Lead the negotiation of all financial contracts on behalf of the institute to get the best value in money.
f) Responsible for continuous review of internal controls and ensure adherence to mitigate any risks that may arise.
g) Ensure the institution complies with the statutory requirement like Tax, SHA, NSSF and audits to avoid penalties from regulators.
h) Secretary to the Finance and Investment Committee of the Governing Council responsible for taking meetings.
i) Oversee implementation of Governing Council resolutions in Finance Department to ensure compliance.
j) Serve as the first signatory of all institute bank’s accounts to ensure accuracy of all payments before the final signatory.
k) Develop and train staff to ensure proper succession planning and availability of optimum skills.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

a) Master’s Degree on a relevant field from a recognized institution.
b) Ten (10) years of relevant work experience
c) Be a CPA finalist and a registered Member of ICPAK
