POSITION SUMMARY:
Safely operate ambulances while delivering high-quality pre-hospital emergency medical care and patient transportation in line with EMS protocols, organizational policies, traffic regulations and applicable laws.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate ambulances and conduct daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) within EMT scope.
- Assess, monitor and safely transport patients; assist advanced-care providers where applicable.
- Complete accurate Patient Care Reports and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Inspect, clean, disinfect and replenish ambulance equipment and medical supplies.
- Maintain compliance, professional conduct, teamwork and continuing professional development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certificate in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or
Pre-Hospital Emergency Care from a recognized institution. - Valid First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- certification; Advanced Life Support is an added advantage.
- Valid professional registration/licence where applicable.
- At least two (2) years experience as an Ambulance
Operator in emergency medical services or a related healthcare role. - Valid Kenyan Driving Licence Class C1, clean driving record and Certificate of Good Conduct.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
Excellent communication, clinical judgement, decision-making under pressure, integrity, professionalism, teamwork, physical fitness, emotional resilience, customer care and attention to detail. Ability to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and extended hours when required.
