The Corporate Finance & Treasury Analyst is a dual-mandate role supporting the Corporate Finance Manager through a mix of analytical, deadline-driven tasks (financial modeling, covenant compliance, investor/lender reporting) and fixed operational routines (managing d.light’s funding structures and daily/weekly/monthly group liquidity). Designed for an analytically strong, highly organized professional, the position offers exposure to structured and off-balance-sheet finance, debt capital markets, and multi-market treasury management, requiring comfort with both project-based analysis and strict calendar obligations.

Roles & Responsibilities: Stream A — Corporate Finance

  • Financial Modelling & Analysis
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to support fundraising, strategic planning and

investment decisions.

  • Conduct macroeconomic research and maintain up-to-date financial model assumptions.
  • Perform scenario analysis, sensitivity testing and stress testing to assess financial risks and

opportunities.

  • Prepare financial forecasts and valuation models for strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain the medium- and long-term liquidity and funding plan.
  • Track actual business outcomes against strategic objectives, highlighting adverse deviations for timely corrective action.
  • Covenant Compliance & Lender Reporting
  • Calculate, track and forecast financial covenant compliance across all facilities.
  • Prepare compliance certificates and other reporting deliverables required

under funding agreements.

  • Prepare regular reports, presentations and dashboards for lenders, investors and financial

partners.

  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements arising from funding agreements.
  • Fundraising & Investor Support
  • Support the execution of debt and equity fundraising activities.
  • Prepare investor presentations, investment memorandums and due diligence materials.
  • Maintain the data room and coordinate responses to investor and lender information

requests.

  • Model the impact of proposed facility terms, pricing and structures on the group’s capital

structure, cash flows and covenant headroom.

Roles & Responsibilities: Stream B — Treasury Operations

  • Receivable Finance & SPV Operations
  • Manage the monthly sale of new receivables into the receivable financing SPVs across Kenya,

Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria and Zambia to unlock cash receipts in a timely fashion.

  • Ensure daily cash sweeps to the SPVs are executed in compliance with the related

agreements and maintain the supporting compliance evidence.

  • Support receivable eligibility testing and proactively work to maximize the advance rate

against eligible receivables.

  • Liquidity Framework & Cash Discipline
  • Consolidate OpCo cash submissions into the group rolling cash flow forecast, challenge the

inputs, and explain variance against forecast.

  • Maintain cash generation and cash conversion KPI reporting by country and channel, making

cash flow drivers visible to OpCo finance leads and management teams as well as the Group

ExCo.

  • Produce the weekly liquidity flash reports, liquidity governance pack and supporting cash

dashboards to country financial controllers and management teams.

  • Continuously monitor minimum cash thresholds and escalation triggers and immediately

escalate projected shortfalls.

  • Debt, FX & Banking Administration
  • Maintain the group debt register, including facility terms, drawdown schedules, pricing and

repayment calendars.

  • Calculate and schedule interest and principal payments, and ensure timely settlement of all

debt service obligations.

  • Monitor foreign exchange exposures and execute currency conversions and hedging

instruments strictly within the Board-approved hedging mandate, maintaining complete

hedge documentation.

  • Administer bank accounts, mandates, signatories, KYC documentation and banking platform

access across the group.

  • Monitor counterparty exposure against approved limits and bank charges against agreed

tariffs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
  • CFA/CPA/ACCA/CA or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
  • A treasury qualification (ACT CertT/AMCT, CTP or equivalent) is a strong added advantage.
  • 5 – 8 years of experience spanning both corporate finance analysis and treasury or finance operations.Candidates with depth in only one of the two streams are unlikely to succeed in this role.
  • Strong experience in financial modelling, valuation and corporate finance principles.
  • Hands-on experience operating banking platforms and executing settlement and treasury transactions in a controlled and automated environment.
  • Experience working across multiple currencies, entities and banking jurisdictions.
  • Exposure to structured, securitization or receivables financing structures, and to lender covenant reporting, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in emerging markets, and familiarity with mobile money and local currency control regimes, is an advantage.
