POSITION OVERVIEW
The Account Manager is responsible for delivering client value through the effective management of client projects and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of assigned accounts. This role proactively manages the relationship between the Client and the Agency, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
KNOWLEDGE AREAS:
- Understanding of integrated marketing and its core disciplines, including advertising, digital marketing, public relations, and brand communications.
- Client relationship management and delivery of strategic communication initiatives.
- Project planning, commercial management, and budget control.
- Talent management, team collaboration, and stakeholder relationship building.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Management & Delivery of Client Strategy
- Continuously build knowledge of the client’s brand, products, services, and marketplace.
- Understand, articulate, and support the implementation of client strategies while providing strategic insight where required.
- Develop a deep understanding of clients’ businesses, industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes.
- Identify client challenges, participate in brainstorming sessions, and evaluate creative ideas alongside internal teams and clients.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client requests, ensuring they remain informed on project progress and deliverables.
- Act as a trusted day-to-day advisor, supporting the successful implementation of client activities.
- Assist in the development and execution of integrated strategic communication plans across multiple business functions.
Project & Commercial Management
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient delivery of all assigned work.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and within approved budgets.
- Monitor work in progress to ensure all completed work can be reconciled and billed accurately.
- Ensure invoices are issued promptly and correctly.
- Coordinate reconciliation meetings with suppliers where required to maintain accurate financial records.
Talent Management & Relationship Building
- Lead and inspire cross-functional project teams to consistently deliver exceptional client outcomes.
- Create actionable development plans for team members through regular coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining accountability across the team.
- Ensure clear and consistent communication by distributing contact reports, briefs, meeting minutes, timing plans, and market updates.
- Motivate project teams during challenging periods while maintaining project momentum and team morale.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and both internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster positive, professional, and long-lasting client relationships that support business growth.
REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:
- Confident and assertive with the ability to champion the Agency’s ideas, recommendations, and value proposition.
- Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to achieve results through effective teamwork.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, strategic insight, and business analysis.
- Previous experience within an integrated marketing, advertising, communications, or public relations agency.
- Working knowledge of agency planning frameworks, processes, and capabilities.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences.
- Strong storytelling and strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop compelling narratives that secure client buy-in.
