REGIONAL CONSERVATION EDUCATION OFFICER (NAIROBI REGION)
Wildlife Clubs of Kenya (WCK) is a Wildlife, Nature and Environmental Conservation Education
membership based organisation with the mandate to empower youth and communities to
proactively engage in wildlife, Nature and Environmental conservation. Working with partners,
including the Government of Kenya, WCK implements diverse conservation education, awareness
outreach and community programmes across the country.
Position Overview
The Nairobi Region Conservation Education Officer serves as the principal technical and
operational lead for conservation education and awareness within the Nairobi Region and its
environs. The Officer is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring,
evaluation and reporting of regional conservation education programmes.
The position also serves as a strategic support to the Head of Conservation Education Programmes
in coordinating and advancing WCK’s national conservation education and awareness agenda. This
includes strengthening stakeholder engagement, developing and managing strategic partnerships
and collaborations, supporting the coordination and management of projects and contributing to
funding and resource mobilisation initiatives aimed at expanding the reach, impact and long-term
sustainability of WCK’s conservation education programmes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordination and Delivery of Conservation Education Programmes
 Lead and coordinate WCK’s conservation education, awareness, outreach and
community programmes in the Nairobi Region.
 Develop and implement regional conservation education work plans aligned with WCK’s
strategic priorities, targets and outcomes.
2. Resource Mobilisation, Fundraising and Strategic Partnerships
ï‚§ Identify, develop and pursue funding and resource mobilisation opportunities to
support the growth, implementation and sustainability of WCK’s conservation
education programmes.
ï‚§ Develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborations with donors,
government agencies, corporates, schools, communities, conservation organisations and
other key stakeholders to strengthen, support and enhance the impact of WCK’s
conservation education programmes.
3. Programme Quality, Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact
ï‚§ Monitor conservation education programme implementation against approved plans,
budgets, targets and KPIs, ensuring quality delivery and achievement of results.
ï‚§ Coordinate monitoring, evaluation, learning, documentation and reporting to
demonstrate impact and inform conservation education programmes improvement.
4. Leadership, Stakeholder Engagement and Operational oversight support
ï‚§ Provide leadership and mentorship to the Nairobi conservation education regional team and
strengthen stakeholder engagement and representation of WCK.
ï‚§ Oversee regional budgets, resources, compliance and operational coordination.
ï‚§ Provide strategic technical support to the Head of Conservation Education Programmes in
the implementation, coordination and monitoring of WCK’s National Conservation
Education Strategic Plan.

Key Qualifications & Requirements
 Bachelor’s degree in Conservation, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources Management
or a related field
 At least six (6) years’ relevant experience in conservation and environmental education,
programmes /projects coordination and management.
ï‚§ Proven track record of success in donor-funded programmes, fundraising and resource
mobilisation, with demonstrated ability to develop competitive grant proposals, secure
funding and cultivate and sustain strategic donor relationships.
ï‚§ Strong skills in programme/project management, monitoring and evaluation, financial
management, stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
ï‚§ Proven leadership and communication skills, with sound knowledge of conservation
principles and practices and the ability to translate strategy into results.
ï‚§ M&E and/or PMP certification and international donor experience will be an added
advantage;
ï‚§ Must hold a valid and active driving licence and be willing to travel to WCK Regional Centres
and project locations as required
