PAKPRO is Kenya’s leading Producer Responsibility Organisation for packaging—and we are building the partnerships, systems and innovations that make circularity work at scale. We are looking for an energetic, strategic and delivery-focused Programmes Coordinator to drive our circular economy and waste management portfolio. You will lead the national rollout and performance of take-back schemes, connect diverse value-chain partners, and translate EPR commitments into transparent, high-impact collection and recycling results.

WHAT YOU WILL DRIVE
Programme Leadership & Delivery
- Design, launch and scale collection and take-back schemes for packaging and waste streams.
- Lead programme planning, implementation, budgeting, risk management and performance reporting in consultation with the CEO.
- Manage contracts, collection subsidies and partner deliverables while ensuring transparent and responsible use of resources.
- Inspire, guide and develop a high-performing programmes team.
Stakeholder Mobilisation & Partnerships
- Map, onboard and actively engage grant funders, producers, brand owners, regulators, funders, recyclers, collectors, aggregators and waste-picker organisations.
- Build trusted partnerships that strengthen compliance, ethical sourcing, inclusion and sector-wide collaboration.
- Represent PAKPRO confidently in industry forums and communicate progress, insights and impact to diverse audiences.
- Coordinate cross-functional and sector-specific initiatives to deliver agreed goals, timelines and outcomes.
Performance, Innovation & Accountability
- Build robust systems to verify collection volumes, recycling rates, partner performance and end-to-end traceability.
- Use data and insight to improve programme efficiency, maximise return on investment and strengthen decision-making.
- Identify emerging technologies, market trends and new delivery models, then turn the strongest ideas into scalable solutions.
- Produce clear, timely and decision-ready programme reports for management, partners and funders.
Reporting and Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
- Sit on the Management Committee and all Six (6) Sector Boards.
- Has Five (5) direct reports.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental studies/science, Waste Management, Sustainability, Engineering, Project Management, Economics, Development Studies, Business Administration or a related field; a relevant master’s degree is an advantage.
- At least eight (8) years of progressive experience in programme or project management, stakeholder engagement, community development, sustainability or a related field, including at least four (4) years leading complex programmes or projects.
- Relevant professional certification in programme/project management, environmental management, logistics or a related discipline, with membership in good standing of an applicable professional body.
- Strong programme leadership skills, including planning, budgeting, contract management, risk management, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, partnership-building, negotiation and facilitation skills across private sector, government, development partners and community actors.
- High level of data literacy: able to interpret operational data, track performance, build clear dashboards or reports, and convert evidence into action.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Business Intelligence is an added advantage
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with the agility to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to represent PAKPRO in senior-level and public forums.
- Demonstrated integrity, accountability, emotional intelligence and commitment to inclusive, ethical value chains.
- Knowledge of EPR, packaging materials, recycling markets, waste traceability and Kenya’s environmental regulatory landscape is a strong advantage.
