JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for installation, maintenance, and fault restoration of Safaricom’s OSP fibre network – FTTH, FTTB, and national backhaul/backbone links – supporting Safaricom Home Fibre, enterprise, and base station connectivity across an assigned region or cluster.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, splice, test & commission fibre networks (FTTH, FTTB, backhaul)
- Restore faults within SLA & escalate via NOC ticketing systems
- Read designs, maps & site surveys; coordinate permits & wayleaves
- Maintain documentation, reports & QA standards
- Adhere to EHS policy & represent Safaricom/partner brand professionally
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics or related field
- Fibre optic certification (FOA CFOT or equivalent) preferred/required
- 1-3+ years OSP fibre experience; Safaricom-linked experience an advantage
- Valid driving license (Class B/C)
- Familiarity with GPON/EPON, Safaricom standards & fault ticketing systems
- Clean background/security clearance
KEY SKILLS
- Fusion splicing, OTDR, VFL, power meter testing
- FTTH/FTTB & backhaul installation experience
- SLA-driven fault resolution
- GIS/route map interpretation
- Stakeholder engagement
- High standard documentation & reporting
- PPE compliance & working-at-height
