KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Site Assessment & Plumbing Connection: Evaluate local water sources (municipal vs. borehole) and water pressure on-site. Tap into existing supply lines using quality brass angle valves, pressure-reducing valves (PRVs), and leak-block safety devices.
- Filtration System Setup: Install and service tailored multi-stage filtration systems-including sediment pre-filters, activated carbon blocks, UV lamps, Reverse Osmosis (RO) membranes, and fluoride removal media.
- Power & Equipment Protection: Install voltage surge protectors/digital guards on all dispenser power feeds to safeguard internal heating/cooling compressors from power fluctuations.
- Descaling & Sanitization: Perform routine maintenance, including chemical sanitization of tanks and descaling of heating elements prone to hard water/borehole scale buildup, using food-grade agents.
- Fault Diagnostics: Systematically troubleshoot electromechanical issues on-site-including compressor cooling faults, heating element burnouts, solenoid failures, and leak detection-using a multimeter and diagnostic tools.
- Field Recordkeeping: Complete digital work orders, track vehicle inventory (push-fit fittings, tubing, filter cartridges), and report site conditions accurately to the operations supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Water Engineering from a reputable, recognized institution.
- Experience: 1-3 years of practical experience in plumbing, commercial water purification (RO/UV), refrigeration equipment, or office appliances.
- Technical Competencies:
- Hands-on knowledge of water purification systems (RO/UV), filtration technologies and dispensers.
- Practical skills in plumbing connections, booster pumps, float switches and waste-water drain saddles.
- Proficient in 1/4″ and 3/8″ food-grade tubing and push-fit (John Guest) connectors.
- Ability to diagnose and repair electromechanical systems using multimeter and hand tools.
- Language & Soft Skills: Excellent spoken and written English and Kiswahili. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel across client locations within Nairobi and surrounding counties (Kiambu, Machakos, Kajiado, etc.) as scheduled.
