Qualifications
- Minimum Certificate in Fiber optics or related field.
- Atleast 1+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Basic understanding of fiber network concepts.
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patrol assigned backbone links, fiber routes and clusters daily.
• Inspect fiber cables and infrastructure for potential damage.
• Raise immediate alarms on high-risk areas and notify NOC and field teams.
• Comply with EHS and field safety requirements.
• Liaise with contractors, authorities and communities where necessary.
•Identify areas where fiber cables are at risk of being cut or damaged.
• Take and submit geotagged photographs as evidence for route inspections.
• Report on areas covered, high-risk locations, network observations and incidents.
• Maintain a proactive approach to detecting fiber cuts before they occur.
• Monitor construction, excavation and road works that may threaten underground or aerial fiber routes.
• Inspect distribution points for damaged boxes, loose covers, exposed cables and poor labelling.
• Revisit reported threats to confirm corrective action has been completed.
