FINANCIAL CONTROLLERS
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded and results-oriented Financial Controllers to provide strategic financial leadership for our manufacturing business units in various locations. The successful candidates will partner with operational leadership to drive financial performance, strengthen governance, improve operational efficiency and support sustainable business growth. This role is ideal for a finance professionals with extensive experience in manufacturing finance, strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to influence business performance through insightful financial analysis and effective business partnering.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Finance Controllers will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic financial leadership to the assigned business unit.
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes.
- Ensuring timely, accurate and insightful monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Driving manufacturing cost optimisation, profitability improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Overseeing product costing, inventory valuation and working capital management.
- Managing treasury operations, cash flow forecasting and liquidity.
- Strengthening financial governance, internal controls and enterprise risk management.
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS, tax legislation, statutory requirements and all applicable regulatory obligations, including excise and other industry-specific requirements where applicable.
- Supporting commercial decision-making through profitability analysis, pricing reviews and investment appraisals.
- Leading finance digital transformation initiatives through SAP S/4HANA, Power Bl and reporting automation.
- Building, coaching and developing a high-performing finance team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in sugar manufacturing, distillery operations, FMCG or other continuous-process manufacturing industries will be a distinct advantage.
- Strong knowledge of FRS, financial reporting, manufacturing finance, taxation, budgeting, treasury, internal controls and corporate governance.
- Hands-on experience using SAP ECC6 or SAP S/4HANA ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power Bl and financial modelling skills.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
The ideal candidates should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics or a related field
- CPA(K), ACCA or an equivalent internationally recognised professional accounting qualification.
- Membership in a recognised professional accounting body.
- An MBA or Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
