I. About Badili Africa
Badili Africa is a Pan-African women’s rights organization based in Nairobi, Kenya. The organization
works to cultivate and strengthen the leadership capacities of grassroots women and young women in
urban (informal settlements), rural, and learning institutions by nurturing safe, transformative spaces
that enable women and girls to organize as leaders and to influence local development plans, policies,
and governance processes.
Badili Africa also works towards ending gender-based violence against women and girls as a key barrier
to meaningful participation in political, social, and economic processes. Through feminist organizing,
civic education, advocacy, creative arts, and digital engagement, the organization advances inclusive
governance and social justice.
III. Background and Purpose of the Role
Badili Africa seeks to recruit a competent, dynamic, and values-driven Monitoring, Evaluation,
Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer to strengthen organizational monitoring systems, improve
evidence generation, support learning processes, and enhance accountability to communities, partners,
and donors.
The MEAL Officer will support the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems
across all programs and projects. The role holder will ensure high-quality data collection, management,
analysis, reporting, and learning processes that demonstrate impact and support evidence-based
programming and decision-making.
The officer will also contribute to proposal development, donor reporting, documentation of impact
stories, and strengthening accountability systems rooted in feminist and participatory approaches.
IV. Role Summary
The MEAL officer will lead the development and operationalization of monitoring, evaluation,
accountability, and learning systems for Badili Africa’s programs. The officer will work closely with
program teams to track project implementation, monitor indicators, assess program outcomes, and
ensure quality and timely reporting.
The position requires a strong understanding of participatory and gender-responsive MEAL
approaches, data management systems, donor reporting requirements, and learning methodologies.
The officer will support organizational learning and ensure program interventions remain
evidence-driven and community-centered.
