The Project Assistant will support the day-to-day implementation of a donor-funded project at the county level. The role involves working closely with farmer groups, cooperatives, county government officials, and private-sector partners to ensure effective project delivery, accurate reporting, and timely achievement of project milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day implementation of project activities at the county level.
  • Coordinate with farmer groups, cooperatives, county officials, and private-sector partners.
  • Collect, organize, and submit field data, activity reports, and supporting documentation in line with donor reporting requirements.
  • Support monitoring of project milestones, outputs, and timelines.
  • Assist in organizing field visits, trainings, stakeholder meetings, and demonstrations.
  • Support communication between field teams and the central project management team.
  • Support basic logistics and follow-up actions to ensure smooth project execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum education level: Diploma or Degree
  • Field of study: Project Management, Agribusiness, Agriculture, Policy, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in project management, policy advocacy, agribusiness, or agriculture
  • Fluency in the local language (Kamba)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Other Requirements

  • Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills
  • Willingness to work in a field-based role within Makueni County
