Kenya Paediatric Research Consortium (Keprecon) is a registered NGO that focuses on health
systems strengthening and research, advocacy, social behavior change and clinical trials to improve
reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, and nutrition (RMNCAH+N),
immunization and Primary Health Care (PHC) service delivery in Kenya.

RMNCAH+N research, care, training, mentorship and advocacy for better health of mothers, children
and adolescents in urban, rural and marginalized communities in Kenya and the Eastern Africa

Role/Purpose
The Finance Officer will be responsible for accurate and timely financial support, ensuring
compliance to Keprecon internal policies & procedures and donor policies. He/ She will provide
support to the Finance Manager in budgeting & reporting, cash flow management, effective
management of donor awards & donor reporting, and day-to-day financial department operations.
This role reports directly to the Finance Manager.
Essential Job Function
1. Recording all financial transactions and ensure monthly transactions are entered in the general
ledger accurately and on timely basis.
2. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and end month procedures.
3. Timely payments of program activities and ensuring completeness, accuracy, and approvals as
per Keprecon policies.
4. Supporting procurement of goods and services for the projects as per Keprecon policies and
standards.
5. Maintain an accurate filing of payment vouchers and other financial documents.
6. Manage verification and liquidation of all project advances and review travel expense reports.
7. Audit travel vouchers and reconcile travel advances.
8. Petty cash management: cash custodian, proper recording, reconciliations, and posting of petty
cash expenses.
9. Support in payroll management by filing all the statutory returns and making payments for all
payroll deductions.
10. Ensuring finance policies and procedures are adhered to.
11. Preparation of audit schedules and support the audit process.
12. Managing stocks of stationery and utilities.
13. Submitting monthly statutory deductions including knowledge of basic laws governing such
statutories including the due dates
14. Any other responsibility as guided by your supervisor
Qualifications & Experience
• A bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/business administration with at least 2 years of
relevant professional experience. Experience in Audit is highly desirable.
• CPA K
• Experience in project accounting and auditing in donor-funded development projects is required.
• Strong computer skills in QuickBooks accounting software, and Microsoft Office applications,
including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
