The Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK) is inviting applications for two internship positions to support our strategic programs and operations. We are seeking highly motivated and committed individuals who are passionate about environmental management and keen to contribute to the Institute’s mandate. The internship offers a structured opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic professional environment, while supporting ElK’s mission and national programs.
Position 1
Environmental Programs Support Intern
Minimum Requirements
- A graduate with a degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
- Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated interest in environmental policy, climate action, or biodiversity conservation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Capacity to support technical tasks, prepare reports, compile documentation, and contribute to project coordination in a structured and fast-paced environment.
Position 2
Events and Digital Communications Intern
Minimum Requirements
- A recent graduate in Event Planning, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field, with a demonstrated passion for environmental & sustainability issues
- Proven skills in event planning, logistical coordination, and stakeholder engagement
- Working knowledge of graphic design social media management, and digital marketing will be an added advantage
- Ability to develop high-quality communication and branding materials for professional programs and events
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to take initiative, manage time effectively, and support multiple activities in a fast-paced environment
DURATION
SIX (6) months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and program needs.
