Background

HealthRight Kenya (HRK) is a Health and Human Rights Non-Governmental Organization, incorporated in 2005, with the head office in Nairobi, Kenya. The organization has been working with local government and communities in Kenya’s remote and impoverished regions to strengthen the response to critical issues in four priority program areas; HIV/AIDS, Mental Health, SGBV and RMCAH, as well as in high-burden communicable diseases like malaria and tuberculosis.

 Position Summary

The objective of this job is to support the implementation of project activities by moving staff and project supplies.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Pick and drop project staff and visitors to project implementation areas and back.
  2. Support project implementation by carrying and distributing project supplies to various project areas.
  3. Collecting project supplies and other supplies such as office supplies and dropping them at the office.
  4. Maintaining the project vehicles in good state, assessing the vehicles’ status and making recommendations for repairs if need be.
  5. Keeping the vehicle clean.
  6. Recording fuel and vehicle mileage logs accurately.
  7. Ensuring that the driver’s licenses, vehicle insurance certificate and inspection certificates are up to date.
  8. Complying with the organization’s usage of motor vehicles by avoiding speeding and overloading.
  9. Occasionally, the job holder will support project staff in distributing direct aid items and in assisting the project officers in taking pictures while in the field.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • KCSE certificate.
  • Driving certificate course
  • Defensive driving course. PSV driving license will be an added advantage
  • 3 years of related work experience.
  • Visual Acuity Certificate (eye test certificate) is compulsory

Working Conditions/Environmental factors

Long periods of sitting/ standing, and insecurity in some regions–Bungoma/ Trans Nzoia Counties. Driving in informal with poor sanitation and poor road network.
