MEHTA ELECTRICALS Limited a Class A electrical contracting company, is looking for junior electrical engineers with the qualifications below to carry out the roles as outlined. If you meet the below requirements, please submit your application to hr@mehta.co.ke

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. BSC. Electrical and Electronics Engineer or HND Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  2. Background in Building services Electrical installation works will be an added advantage
  3. At least 1-year experience
  4. Good interpersonal skills
  5. Fluent in English, both written and spoken

OBJECTIVES

To oversee project execution as per relevant industry standards with the following objectives:

  1. Delivery of projects on time
  2. Delivery of projects with quality workmanship
  3. Delivery of projects within budget

ROLES

To achieve the above objectives, the engineer will be expected to carry out the following roles and responsibilities:

  1. Request and obtain information from client, client representative and/or contractors where needed
  2. Technical analysis of obtained information taking into account all the regulations governing the industry
  3. Coordinate with the drawings department to ensure where required information received is converted into working and shop drawings
  4. Prepare submittals and samples in consultation with the projects department taking into account B.O.Q rates and specifications
  5. Pursue approvals of submittals, Working drawings and Shop drawings
  6. Ensure information obtained is relayed to site inform of drawings and or written instructions
  7. Prepare material schedule/ take off
  8. Preparation of works program
  9. Documentation of all instructions
  10. Periodic project appraisal and application for payment
  11. Asses manpower requirements for the site and make appropriate resourcing arrangements in consultation with the relevant personnel
  12. Supervise the following roles performed by the site foreman:
  • Monitor quality of workmanship
  • Assess labor onsite versus output
  • Record keeping on site
  • Material requisition of consumables
  • Monitor adequacy of tools and equipment on site
  • Setting targets and milestones for the site team
  • Testing and commissioning
  • Reporting to supervising engineers and management.
