POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer to join our team. The MEL Officer will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing robust MEL frameworks. This role will involve collecting and analysing gender-sensitive data and fostering a culture of learning to enhance the impact of Afchix initiatives aimed at increasing women’s participation and success in the technology sector. This role requires strong skills in data management, gender-responsive evaluation, and collaborative learning to support evidence-based decision-making and program improvement. The MEL Officer will work closely with program teams, stakeholders, and beneficiaries to track progress, document success stories, and refine strategies for empowering women in technology.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Gender Studies, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning, preferably within gender-focused or technology-related programs.

  • Strong understanding of gender equality, women’s empowerment, and issues related to women in technology.

  • Proficiency in data management and analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, STATA, Power BI).

  • Experience with both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods.

  • Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with digital tools and platforms used in technology programs is a plus.
