DRIVERS
NAIROBI
Apex Steel Limited is seeking to recruit highly organized and results-driven Drivers to join our Logistics Department based in Nairobi.
JOB PURPOSE
To ensure company vehicles are driven and maintained in an effective and efficient manner, and to safely deliver goods to the company customers, documents, or personnel to designated destinations on time while upholding company policies and standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dispatch goods to the company customers safely and on time.
- Follow assigned routes and obtain authority for any deviation.
- Ensure all vehicle statutory documents are valid and renewed on time.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspection before trips and report any defects.
- Report incidents/accidents immediately and follow supervisor instructions.
- Ensure Delivery Notes are signed, stamped and submitted after delivery.
- Ensure offloading within 30 minutes of arrival.
- Do not carry unauthorized goods or personnel.
- Report complaints or discrepancies immediately.
- Always have a valid driving license.
- Comply with Apex policies and procedures, safety, health and environment regulations.
- Carry out any other lawful duties assigned.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Computer knowledge is an added advantage.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks when required.
- Must pass company medical examination.
- Must comply with company safety, health, and environment regulations.
- Willing to work flexible hours when required.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
- KCSE Certificate
- Professional Driving Qualification (PSV)
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a busy organization preferably from a manufacturing unit.
- Good knowledge of Nairobi routes and environs.
- Defensive driving skills and road safety awareness.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Honesty, integrity and reliability.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
