THE OPPORTUNITY
The Corporate Affairs Coordinator supports the effective management of the organization’s external relationships, stakeholder engagement and social license to operate, with a specific operational focus on the Nairobi Plant.
The role acts as the day-to-day interface between the business and local stakeholders, ensuring that community, local authority, regulatory and partner engagements are structured, documented, responsive and aligned to Group corporate affairs and sustainability strategy.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
- Support stakeholder mapping, profiling, and database maintenance to inform engagement planning and prioritization.
- Act as the primary liaison with local community leaders, local authorities, regulators and partners.
- Assist in coordinating stakeholder meetings, consultations, and outreach activities, including preparing agendas, briefings, and follow‑up documentation.
- Monitor stakeholder issues, feedback, and concerns, and escalate insights to the Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Director for action and response planning.
Public Affairs & Regulatory Support
- Assist in tracking relevant policy, regulatory developments, and government relations activities that may impact the company’s operations.
- Support execution of advocacy or engagement activities with public institutions, where needed, to promote business interests and address stakeholder concerns.
- Help prepare briefing notes, research summaries, and stakeholder engagement reports for senior leadership.
Plant Level Corporate Affairs
- Work closely with the Nairobi Plant Manager to anticipate and manage local stakeholder expectations and risks.
- Support resolution of community concerns, grievances and inquiries in coordination with Group Corporate Affairs.
- Escalate emerging social or reputational risks promptly
- Coordinate site visits, inspections and official engagements in collaboration with Legal, HSE and Operations.
- Ensure records of engagements and correspondence are maintained
Community Engagement & License to Operate
- Participate in planning, coordination, implementations and monitoring of community development and CSR projects that align with company strategy and community needs.
- Assist in managing partnerships with community groups, implementing partners, and NGOs to ensure positive social impact and effective project delivery.
- Support measurement of community project outcomes, capturing key insights and lessons learned for reporting and continuous improvement
- Track commitments made to communities and ensure timely follow-up.
- Support community meetings, forums and consultations.
Operational Support & Report Coordination
- Provide administrative support for Corporate Affairs activities, including documentation, scheduling, and internal coordination.
- Prepare regular stakeholder engagement and community project reports for management review.
- Contribute to cross‑functional projects that require collaboration with departments such as HR, Operations, HSE and Legal.

Health Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Comply fully with the Company’s HSE Policy, Rules and Standards at all times
- Perform work strictly in accordance with approved procedures, permits and risk assessments
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent slips, trips, falls, and other workplace accidents.
- Dispose waste and hazardous materials properly so as to minimize environmental impact
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and consistently
- Actively identify, report and where possible correct unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and environmental risks
- Promptly report all incidents, near misses, hazards and at-risk conditions
- Participate in tool box talks, safety briefings, drills and HSE improvement initiatives
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field
- 5 – 8 years’ experience in corporate affairs, stakeholder engagement, community relations or public affairs
- Experience working in industrial, manufacturing or infrastructure environments is a strong advantage
